Obituary for Kevin W. Smelser

Kevin Wade Smelser, 38, of Winchester, VA went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 30, 2017 in Berkeley County, WV.

Kevin was born on April 18, 1979 in Winchester, VA, a son of Timothy W. “Timmy” Smelser of Winchester and Alice Iser Lark of Hedgesville, WV. He was a concrete finisher and equipment operator for Lasting Impressions Concrete and previously worked 10 years for Carmuese Lime and Stone as a state certified quarry foreman. Kevin loved his GMC truck and working on old cars, trucks & motors

Surviving with his parents are his brothers: Andrew Smelser who was his twin of Winchester; Nathan Smelser and his wife Ashley of Bunker Hill, WV; maternal grandmother: Hazel Iser of Winchester; paternal grandmother: Gypsy Smelser of Winchester; his niece: Reese Smelser; his nephews: Ross Smelser and Jacob Beachler and a special friend: Alicia Taylor. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather: Earl Iser; his paternal grandfather: Robert “Bobby” Smelser and his step-father: Richard “Dick” Lark.

A funeral service will be held at the Woodbine Assembly of God near Clearbrook, VA on Friday, October 6, 2017 at 1 PM. Officiating will be Rev’s Louis Whitford & David Palmer. Interment will follow in the Old Stone Cemetery near Greenspring, VA.

The family will receive friends at the church on Friday two hours prior to the service from 11-1 PM.
