Obituary for Linda M. Whitacre

Linda Marie Whitacre, 69, of Paw Paw, WV, died Thursday, August 31, 2017 at the Winchester Medical Center.

Linda was born on September 23, 1947 in Akron, OH, a daughter of the late Ray C. and Evelyn V. Nixon Pugh. Linda was a cashier at Walmart for 18 years in Winchester, VA, a 1965 graduate of Hampshire High School and attended the Paw Paw Church of God. She loved yard sales, auctions and being with her family.

Linda married Glenn Whitacre on April 15, 1967 in Capon Bridge, WV. Glenn died on October 8, 2016.

Surviving is a son: Joseph Glenn Whitacre of Paw Paw; a daughter: Beth Ann Goodwin and her husband Mike of Gore, VA; three grandchildren: Jeremiah Baker, Jesse Baker (Jenna) and Bryan Goodwin and her special dog Coco.

She is preceded in death by a sister: Beverly J. Pugh.

A funeral service will be held at the Giffin Funeral Home & Crematory on Wednesday, September 6 at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow in the Timber Ridge Cemetery near High View, WV. Please dress casual.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 5th from 5-8 PM.
