Obituary for Pansy M. Anderson

Pansy Mason Anderson, 80, of Gore, VA died on Sunday, September 24, 2017 at the Blue Ridge Hospice Inpatient Care Center in Winchester, VA.

Pansy was born on December 7, 1936 in Berkeley County, WV, a daughter of the late James S. and Cora Orr Mason. She previously worked at National Fruit Products as a supervisor for 36 years, a cashier for A&P grocery store and at the Indian Hollow Elementary School as a custodian. Pansy was a member of the Hebron Baptist Church in Gore where she was a member of the choir and a Sunday school teacher. She had a love of cooking (especially her homemade bread) and most of all being with her family.

Pansy was married Norman R. Anderson on July 14, 1954 in Winchester, VA.

Surviving with her husband of 63 years are two daughters: Diane M. Holmes and her husband James of Stephens City, VA; Tammy L. Jennings and her husband Andy of High View, WV and two grandchildren: Cheyenne F. Fender and Robert D.E. Harris. She is preceded in death by a grandson: Zachary T. Whitacre; five brothers: James, Donald, Joseph, William and Oscar Mason and two sisters: Margaret Mason and Virginia Hess.

A funeral service will be held at the Hebron Baptist Church on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at 11:00 AM. Officiating will be Pastor James Simmons. Interment will follow in the Mt. Olive Cemetery, Hayfield, VA.

The family will receive friends at the Giffin Funeral Home & Crematory in Capon Bridge, WV on Wednesday, September 27th from 5-8 PM.
