Obituary for R. Grant Chapman

Richard Grant Chapman, 32, of Bloomery, WV died on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at his home.

Grant was born on October 5, 1985 in Summersville, WV, a son of Dottie Ward Malcomb and her husband Milo of Bloomery, WV and Richard Chapman and his wife Tammy of Richwood, WV. He loved woodworking, attended the Lighthouse Assembly of God near Paw Paw, WV and was a wonderful father to his son Xavier

Grant was married to Megan Hott Chapman on October 1, 2011 in Romney, WV.

Surviving with his wife and parents is his son: Xavier Michael Chapman who is at home; six sisters: Crystal Friend of Capon Bridge, WV; Tabatha Moreland of Paw Paw, WV; Crystal Dunham of Wheeling, WV; Tera Cole of Woodstock, GA; Kassie Chapman of Romney, WV; Chynne Chapman of Westernport, MD; paternal grandmother: Betty K. Chapman of Cottle, WV; maternal grandmother: Joan Damwood of Cottle, WV and was an awesome uncle to several nieces & nephews.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather: Roger Chapman and maternal grandfather: Eugene Ward.

A funeral service will be held at the Giffin Funeral Home & Crematory in Capon Bridge, WV on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at 2:30 PM. Officiating will be Rev. Earl Travis. Interment will follow in the Greenlane Cemetery in Delray, WV

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 1-2:30 PM.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Chapman Family, C/O Giffin Funeral Home, PO Box 100, Capon Bridge, WV 26711 to help defray funeral expenses.
