Obituary for Shirley J. Roe

Shirley Jean Roe, 79, of Stephenson, VA died on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at the Winchester Medical Center.

Shirley was born on September 3, 1938 in Whitacre, VA, a daughter of the late Elmer and Madeline Catlett Clark. She was a member of the Ebenezer Christian Church in Gore, VA and the Clear Brook Fire & Rescue Ladies Auxiliary in Clear Brook, VA. Shirley loved her flowers, birdfeeders, sitting on her swing & drinking coffee, mowing and being with her family.

Shirley married Roscoe C. Roe on September 17, 1958 in Hagerstown, MD. Mr. Roe died on March 8, 1997.

Surviving is a son: Carl D. Roe (Denice) of Stephenson, VA; a daughter: Christina S. Roe of Stephenson, VA; a sister: Lois M. Stotler of Stephenson, VA.

She is preceded in death by her son: Mark K. Roe, a daughter-in-law: Amanda and her grandsons: Caleb & Tyler; two brothers: George Allen Clark & Roger Clark and a sister: June Baker.

A funeral service will be held at the Giffin Funeral Home & Crematory in Capon Bridge, WV on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at 11:00 AM. Officiating will be Pastor Robert Morris. Interment will follow in the Ebenezer Cemetery in Gore, VA.

Family receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 from 6-8 PM.
