Obituary for William E. “Buck” Davis

William Edwin “Buck” Davis, 92, formerly of High View, WV died on Sunday, August 27, 2017 at his son’s home in Wardensville, WV.

Buck was born on September 28, 1924 in Yellow Spring, WV, the son of the late Thomas B. and Vergie E. Anderson Davis. He worked for the Department of Highways for 20 years and was a Bus Driver for Hampshire County Schools. Buck was a member of the Yellow Spring Rod & Gun Club and Yellow Spring Hunt Club.

Buck married Retta M. Taylor Davis on August 24, 1974 in Gore, VA.

Surviving with his wife of 43 years is a son: Edwin W. “Eddie” Davis and his wife Annette who was his care giver of Wardensville; two daughters: Brenda J. Davis of Wardensville; Arleen V. Anderson of Winchester; seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, two step sons and two step daughters.

He is preceded in death by three brothers: Earl, Winfred and Boyd Davis and two sisters: Grace Sager and Hazel Kump.

A funeral service will be held at the Giffin Funeral Home & Crematory in Capon Bridge on Thursday, August 31st at 11:00 AM. Officiating will be Pastors Milford & Carolyn Lyndaker. Interment will follow in the Timber Ridge Cemetery near High View.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, August 30th from 6-8 PM.
